Meaning if 'CE QUE'

Elle ne s'attendait pas à ce que tu reviennes.

As per this lesson, ce que as a Relative Pronoun means what/ which and refers to a whole idea. So, I am not able to understand how that fits here-

Elle ne s'attendait pas à ce que tu reviennes. - [She was not expecting which / what you come back] ???

What am I missing?

Please help.
