The play
French writing exercise

La pièce

Lucie just joined an after work drama class.

Some vocabulary you may want to look up before or during this exercise:
"to sign up for a class", "a drama class", "to rehearse", "convenient", "available (person)", "a mate [US: buddy]", "at least", "to applaud", "to do a show (stage)", "stage fright", "a premiere", "to support [someone]".

I’ll give you some sentences to translate into French

  • I’ll show you where you make mistakes
  • I’ll keep track of what you need to practise
  • Change my choices if you want

How the test works

Here's a preview of the text for the writing challenge, when you're ready click the start button above:

I finally signed up for a drama class! I will go every Wednesday after work, and we will rehearse a play for the end of the year. The classes won't be far from my house, which will be very convenient! My husband would have liked to come too, but unfortunately he won't be available on Wednesdays, as he already plays football with his mates [US: buddies]. At least, he will come to applaud us when we do the show next June. I will probably have stage fright on the night of the premiere, but I know that the other actors will support me.

Let me take a look at that...
