As far back as I can remember, I've always been totally fascinated by everything that is animal-related in some way or another. Before we moved to the city when I was 13, we used to live in a very rural village which was surrounded by farms, on which I would spend all my spare time. That's where I learned how to milk a cow and shear a sheep! And I'll never forget the day that sealed my vocation for good: that day in June 1994, a week after I turned 10, when I'd helped a mare, Betty, to give birth. After having witnessed the birth of her foal, I refused to leave their sides and the farmer let me sleep in the stables with them.

I'll be right with you...
