So far, I hadn't been very lucky in love, and I was starting to believe that I was destined to stay single. That day, I didn't even want to go out, but my friend Frank - your godfather Lucas - had spent the afternoon repeating he needed me to come to this party with him. You see, the girl that he liked was supposed to be there, and he wanted me to help him talk to her. As soon as we got over there, I found myself a quiet corner for the evening. And that's where I met your mother, who was also trying to hide from the crowd.
