How the test works

Here's a preview of the text for the writing challenge, when you're ready click the start button above:

When I was a teenager, "Tokyo Hotel" was my favourite band. I was in love with the singer, Bill, and their posters covered my bedroom walls. This band was from Germany, and of course, they sang in German. So I chose to study this language to be able to understand their lyrics. Then, I discovered German literature and I met my best friend Erika when I went on holiday [US: vacation] to Munich. Now, I'm twenty-two years old, and I've just moved to Berlin!

Clever stuff happening!
