- Did you know that Quebecois director Jean-Marc Vallée passed away this year? - No! What sad news! I loved what he did. I'd been following his career since the release of C.R.A.Z.Y. in 2005. That movie, which he directed, wrote and produced, is an absolute masterpiece which reduced me to tears the first time I saw it. I still listen to the soundtrack, which is one the best I've ever heard. - Really? I hadn't heard of that movie before, but I've seen several of his English-speaking works, including The Young Victoria, and of course Dallas Buyers Club for which he received the Academy Award for Best Film Editing in 2014. - He also directed the hit series Big Little Lies, which I haven't watched yet. What do you say (that) we watch a double bill in his honour, by watching C.R.A.Z.Y. and the first episode of that series? - You read my mind! I'll come over after work!
