Auquel / a laquelle
This question relates to:French lesson "À + qui, auquel, à laquelle = to whom, what, which (French Relative Pronouns)"
Asked 3 years ago
Yes, absolutely.
L'addresse à laquelle j'ai addressé cette lettre, se trouve en Autriche. -- The address to which I addressed this letter is in Austria. Since l'addresse is feminine, you need to use à laquelle.
Le livre auquel je fais référance se trouve dans la bibliothèque. -- The book I'm referring to is in the library. Le livre is masculine, therefore you need auquel.

Hi for the example:
Le livre auquel je fais référance se trouve dans la bibliothèque. -- The book I'm referring to is in the library. I don't get why you wouldn't translate the auquel in the sentence, is it because we just wouldn't use it in English? Thank you
