Elsa a deux________ euros sur son compte.

My answer is milliers d'
but somehow its not correct. It should be mille.

deux mille euros
deux milliers d'euros

both are correct, right? How come my answer is right?

Just to add a bit of background:

if you're talking about a concrete amount, mille is more common than milliers.

Il y avait des milliers de personnes. -- There were thousands of people.
Il y avait deux mille personnes. -- There were two thousand people.

Both “deux mille euros” and “deux milliers d’euros” are grammatically correct. If you think it has been wrongly marked in a quiz better to use report button as your answer and the question can both be checked.
