Festive season

There were a number of options given for "festive season". "La saison festive" was not one of them. Why? Is it simply that all of the other options are what are actually used and that the adjective festive just doesn't sound normal?

Les fêtes --> périodes en fin d'année, seems to cover all the possibilities you are looking for.
