Why I can not say "ne sort personne" and I have to say "ne sort avec personne"?

Avec is required here. 

Sortir on its own does not mean “to go out with (someone)” - the expression is “sortir avec (quelqu’un)”. The lesson uses a free translation from ‘go out with’ to ‘date’, as one way to express it in English.
