Passe compose

For 'Je me suis cassé la jambe'

Why does it use suis and not J'ai, as its passe compose?

The verb is reflexive 'se casser' - reflexive verbs always conjugate in compound tenses with être.

Conjugate reflexive verbs (+être) in the compound past in French (Le Passé Composé)

Kathryn K.C1Kwiziq community member

Because the verb 'se casser' is reflexive and reflexive verbs are conjugated with 'être'.
