Prepositions + qui, lequel ......

Why is example (1) wrong, i.e. dans lequel when example (3) dans laquelle is correct???  Don’t really get your explanation???


This question relates to:French lesson "Using [preposition] + qui/lequel/laquelle/etc = on what/behind whom/beside which/etc (French Relative Pronouns)"
