Reflexive verbs
This question relates to:French lesson "Conjugate reflexive verbs in the near future in French using aller + infinitive (Le Futur Proche)"
Asked 3 months ago
Peggie,
There is a relatively small number of verbs, around a couple of dozen, that only exist in ‘ pronominal form ‘ - that is the verb is meaningless ( doesn’t exist) without the ‘reflexive’ pronoun.
The links below are useful if you want more information on the types of pronominal verbs, including
reflexive and reciprocal verbs,
verbs that have a change in meaning between non-pronominal and pronominal usage, and
verbs that exist only in pronominal form.
