Can I say like below also insted of "Patrick va mal en ce moment."
Patrick sent mal en ce moment. (Patrick is feeling bad right now )

you need to use the verb ‘ se sentir ‘ in your alternative sentence. See attached lesson from which the example below is taken :
“Zoë se sent mal aujourd'hui “
