Why is de longeur considered incorrect if it included as an option in lesson?

This question relates to:French lesson "Expressing dimensions and measurements in French (French Numbers)"

Need the question/context to answer specifically.
Note though that it is “de longueur” (spelling error may get it marked incorrect) and it is used with the verb “faire” but not with “être” when expressing measurements.
