Why is 'écrit' used?

Ce livre a été écrit pour les lycéens.   Why is 'écrit' used here?

Passive voice - in this case using être in passé composé, followed by appropriate past participle in agreement - "le livre / écrit". 

However, as the book was not written by the students but for them, the preposition pour rather than par is used :
