Why was this marked as incorrect?
All our lives, we'll have wanted to be together. Some things are simply not meant to be.(HINT: Conjugate "vouloir" in Le Futur Antérieur)aurons vouluavions vouluserons voulusaurions voulu
I can't tell you why your answer was marked wrong because you didn't tell me what your answer was.
Toute notre vie, nous aurons voulu être ensemble.
This isn’t so much an answer as a comment….I think the English is a little stilted. If it had said “all our lives we’ve wanted to be together” (but never managed to - “Some things are simply not meant to be"), there is technically no future implied.
But am I correct in understanding the only way to translate “all our lives we’ve wanted to be together” (but haven’t done so yet) I would HAVE to use the Futur Antérieur?
