I think what you are hearing is the liaison, with possibly a touch of regional pronunciation variation. It sounds somewhat 'from the south' - the Marseille accent (specifically encounters with the Gascony accent spring to mind) to me - more lyrical, a little slower, and, to me at least, with the last syllable more pronounced (compared to some other areas of France). I might be wrong about the Southern accent, of course!
