Accent on visite?

Why does visite sometimes have an acute accent on the end, other times it doesn't?

Bonjour M,

In the expression "rendre visite à quelqu'un", "visite" is a noun while in "j'ai visité", "visité" is the verb "visiter" conjugated in Le Passé Composé.
