Ambiguity again

The old house where my parents lived.  Is it an ancient house that my parents once lived in or is it a modern house that they formerly lived in?

The old building where my parents lived L'ancien bâtiment où habitaient mes parents

i.e. the former one , previous to the current one

Le bâtiment ancien où habitaient mes parents 

i.e the old /vintage/ antique
