Are a) and or b) correct? If not why?

You can say :

a. je dormais quand tu m’as interrompu

b. j’étais endormi quand tu m’as interrompu

 

 

dormir = to sleep

être endormi = to be asleep

s’endormir = to fall asleep

endormir = to get [sb] to sleep
