Are "car" and "parce que" interchangeable?

I was marked wrong for writing "... car les activités y sont plus ..." in the fourth sentence.

Hi Sherry,

In the example you quote the clear reason why the person chose to go skiing is because the activities are more ....so 'parce que ' is better here.

If you take a look at the following link asking a similar question you will see examples when 'car' is better suited.

French people will often use them interchangeably but not always correctly...

Hope this helps!
