beaucoup des

"Vous ammenez beaucoup des outils ici."  I found that "beaucoup de" ,can also have a plural form, but was unable to find any reference on this website. Could you please include this usage in a suitable lesson? I would welcome an explanation too.  Thanks

Hi Andrea.

This is a good point.

It is actually quite rare to use 'beaucoup des'.

In the example, you give it would be -

Vous amenez beaucoup d'outils ici = you are bringing a lot of tools here

it could be de légumes (vegetables), de gens ( people), etc.

Meaning a quantity of.

You will use beaucoup des when you are considering the whole of the things you mention -

Beaucoup des amis que j'ai eu ont été étrangers A lot of the friends I have had have been foreign

Beaucoup des vêtements que j'achète sont trop petits pour moi A lot of the clothes I buy are too small for me

Beaucoup des miens habitent dans la région parisienne = A lot of my people live in the Paris region

Hope this helps!
