"Commun" pronounciation

"Commun" sounds like "Comman" this is a little confusing, you cannot hear the 'U' is there an explanation ?

I am not sure what you mean as 'commun' is pronounced correctly by a native speaker.

Maybe you were expecting a more anglicized?
