Why is it that the 'nous' form of the verb "finir" is conjugated as "finissons" but the 'nous' form of the verb "regrossir" is conjugated as"regrossissons"?

Conjugation of verbs
This question relates to:French lesson "Conjugate regular -ir verbs in the present tense in French (Le Présent)"
Asked 3 years ago
Bonjour Emediong,
When using the subject pronoun "nous", -ir verbs in Le Présent, such as "finir" (= to finish) or "regrossir" (= to put on weight again), take the following ending: -issons
finir → fin + issons → finissons - regrossir → regross + issons → regrossissons
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
