conjugations of s'asseoir more information

Question

Just wanted to point out that both Bescherelle and Word Reference say that "je m'asseids, etc." are more common, Bescherelle says it's preferable. French verbs are confusing enough for me, so I'm making my choice for one variation not both.

I understand your point of view. If you prefer remembering one conjugation over another. Just be aware you might encounter them both and it's important to know them.
As a French native speaker, I sometimes use "je m'assois etc" if I am describing a situation etc to a friend where I or someone else had to sit down (Why, I can't say ; but, that's me!). Otherwise, I most often use the conjugation of asseoir just like Bescherelle recommends: je m'assieds etc.
