Demonstrate how to use the verb sortir with a direct object

Please give an example of sortir in the transitive. e.g., Je sors un livre de mon sac can become Je le sors de mon sac? Is that correct? So sortir would mean to take something out? Grammar Jargon: partir is an intransitive verb, whereas quitter and laisser are always transitive verbs (i.e. have a direct object) and sortir can be either

Susan,

have a look at the linked lesson on sortir and its auxiliary verbs.

To the 2nd part of the question and example - yes, when the direct object is already known or mentioned, it can be replaced with a direct object pronoun as usual.

Sortir can be used with avoir or être in Le Passé Composé depending on its meaning in French
