I am still confused about whether should I use Des or Les

Je veux des bonbons
Je veux les bonbons

Why the second sentence wouldn't be correct?

Je veux des bonbons. -- I want (some) candy.
Je veux les bonbons. -- I want the candy.

The first sentence speaks about general candy, whereas the second one refers to a specific set of candy, e.g., the bonbons in the bowl on the table.

Use des if you want some sweets and les if you want all the sweets

des meaning some, les meaning that you know the bonbons ( plural) may be the ones in the cabinet.
