shouldn't it be "de nouvelles technologies"? no s if an adjective comes before noun?
des nouvelles technologies

Hi Leah,
I think the text says -
".... quand on parle des nouvelles technologies."
Here, as Paul points out, it stands for the new technologies which enable selfies rather than just new technologies, hence the
'des'
Hope this helps!

I think in this case it is because the “des” represents “de les” i.e. “of the” as opposed to when “des” can be translated as “some”.
Il y a DE nouvelles technologies, mais qu’est que tu penses DES nouvelles technologies.
