Dropping an "s" from "er" verbs in the singular imperative

If you drop the "s" from all "er" verbs when using the singular imperative, why does "ajoutes-y" have an "s" ?

“   -ER verbs recover their original -s  in front of y (for pronunciation reasons )

Mange dans ce restaurant ! Manges-y ! Eat in that restaurant! Eat there!
