en vs pendant

j'ai mangé pendant une heure vs j'ai mangé en une heure.

Do they have the same meaning: I ate within one heure?

Thanks.

Bonjour Zijun,

There's a clear difference:

"pendant une heure""for an hour"

Expressing for + [duration] in French with either pendant/durant/depuis/pour (French Prepositions of Time)

"en une heure""(with)in an hour"

En vs Dans with time (French Prepositions of Time)

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
