Encore vs Toujours
Dear Aurelie,
Why is "you must still know" "Il faut encore connaitre" and not "Il faut toujours connaitre" ? I thought that toujours worked better for still. could toujours be used?
Thank you,
Leah

Bonjour Leah !
Actually "toujours" and "encore" are both used to express "still", and though they're often interchangeable, in some cases one will be better than the other. I know, right!
In this case, "il faut encore ...." to say "you must still...", it is a bit of a fixed expression, and using "toujours" here would only refer to its first meaning of "always".
I hope that's helpful!
À bientôt !
