Bonjour Anna !

Yes, you can absolutely say "Je prends mon déjeuner / petit-déjeuner / dîner / repas...": it's the correct way to say "I have lunch, breakfast, dinner, a meal..." in French.
However, you can never say "J'ai mon déjeuner..." !

A bientôt !

Bonjour Michelle !

Yes, of course in French we actually have verbs to refer to specific meals as well : dîner, déjeuner, petit-déjeuner

Marie a petit-déjeuné avec Sam.
Je dîne chez mes parents aujourd'hui.
Où est-ce que tu vas déjeuner ?

I was simply pointing out that you couldn't use avoir in the context of meals in French (unlike in English), and that in those cases, you needed prendre instead :)

Also, you can say Je mange mon repas, albeit a bit redundant ;)

Bonne journée !

Thank-you!

What about Je dîner? I have heard that before. It this a particularity of the language, like in English we can say "I dine" but not "I breakfast" or "I meal"?

Also, Je mange mon repas? Yes or no?

Est-ce que'on peut dire - Je prend mon déjeuner?
