gémir as you would finir?

Question

Becherelle (2006) says to conjugate gémir as you would finir, interestingly, nothing looks like geignait there ... I assume I haven't got to the lesson that explains this.

the verb used in the lesson is ‘ geindre ‘, conjugated in the 3rd person singular imparfait. 
You won’t find lessons on every verb - it is listed in wordreference as conjugating in the same manner as ‘ atteindre ‘ along with a number of other irregular ‘ ir ‘  verbs.
