gender neutral pronouns

in french how do you say they/them pronouns without it being pluralized? I know iel for they but i’m having trouble finding a singular them

There is no ‘official’ word. “iel” is considered singular, “iels” plural. 

An internet search will give many sites discussing the issue, including the link below.
