Hi Debbie,

If you mean -

Ce jour-là, Marie ___ la vérité = That day, Marie discovered the truth 

The only accepted answer is 'découvrit' which is the passé simple of the verb 'découvrir'.

The future would be wrong and would have been -

découvrira
