Hi Tim,

As 'se coucher' also means just 'to lie down', we use 'aller se coucher' for 'to go to bed'.

Hope this helps!

Hello Tim, Think there could another translation for the cat stretching.

English -he stretches in his basket  ( french -: il s'étire dans son panier)

English- he stretches in his bed ( french- il s'étire dans son lit)

I thought se coucher means "to go to bed" so it should not be necessary also to use the verb aller!
