In a store

When visiting stores in Paris and the owner asks what I want, how do I say that I'm just looking.

Bonjour Christopher,

Je jette un oeil   -- In the sense "I cast an eye" --- just looking.

The verb being used is jeter (to cast) in this context.

Please be sure to make eye contact on leaving with a simple thanks --  merci.

Bonne continuation
