In a team

Hello,

Just curious about Mathieu being 'in a team'.  Is that how the french describe team membership?  In US we say, 'on a team'.

Merci!

Elle,

yes,  ‘ dans une équipe ‘  is standard in French. The expression “ faire partie de .. “ is also commonly used.

There seem to be regional differences in the English also - ‘ in a/the team ‘ is probably still most commonly used in my part of the world ‘, although ‘ on a/the team ‘ is also in use.

Faire partie de = To be part of (French Expressions with faire)

Hello,

I think there are some differences in French and Canadian French baseball terms. For instance, I believe "frappeur" and "bâton" are commonly accepted terms for hitter and bat.

In reference to John L's comment about the translation of hitter and bat ... it frequently occurs to me when doing these exercises that it would be nice to have the upfront vocabulary words presented in both French and English.  DeepL and Google don't always give me what you're looking for (plus it would save the time of looking things up).
