Je n'en attendais pas

Je n'en attendais pas

As Judy and Marnie ask. What does the en replace? I am assuming a structue like 'attendre qqch de qqn'. With the de vous for 'de qqn' the end. Is there an implied phrase such as 'I expected nothing less (of this service) from you'?

Hi Michael,

Take a look at my answer to the same question below -

Je n'en attendais pas. -- I wasn't expecting this.

It's probably best to take this as a fixed phrase rather than overanalyze it. The literal translation would probably be something like: I wasn't expecting (anything) of that. And the "of that" is replaced by en. That's how my brain parses it.
