Listening and vocabulary

Question

I am finding that vocab does play a big role in my comprehension. Empruntons was 'en Printemps' for me;-) I do understand that context is important as well, but I didn't have the word to "find."  I absolutely love that all areas of study are covered here including listening comprehension which is hardest for me, especially on the phone.

Thank you for your kind words about our exercises and content being comprehensive. I agree with you: "vocabulary does play a big role" in language comprehension. The example of "empruntons" becoming "en Printemps" is such a perfect illustration of how our brains try to make sense of sounds with whatever familiar words we know. This also highlights how important context is!
Keep it up! You're definitely on the right track. Building awareness of these intricacies is a major step forward when learning a foreign language.

Hello, I am learning to use the dictation modules. Listening is very helpful and it certainly makes me think about the pronunciation of the words, the conjugation of verbs and the vocabulary.  I am not using the scoring system as it is not as helpful as reading the answers and the corrections.
