Mais ou or

Can you please explain when to use the French conjunctions "mais" or "or" for the English conjunction "yet"? I did not find a lesson on this.

Hi Paul,

'Mais' and 'or' are very similar in meaning ...'Or' is more formal and literary than 'mais'.

Here are a few examples where 'mais' and 'or' can be translated as 'yet'.

Hope this helps!
