Why am I not putting an e at the end (a tenu and not a tenue if we're speaking of a féminine thing)?

Bonjour Bethany,

From the lesson tip   --  "Note that with avoir as an auxiliary, past participles never agree with the subject of the verb:"

In the case of être as auxiliary, however, the past participle always agrees with the subject.

Agreeing past participle with subject's gender and number with (+ être) verbs in the compound past in French (Le Passé Composé)
