Why in the sentence "Claire habite à Paris." is the mute h clearly pronounced?

I listened several times as well when William first posted, and the ‘ h ‘ seemed clearly heard pronounced as an English speaker would do, to my surprise.

However my wife hears it as pronounced correctly in French - so I now think the enchaînement between the terminal ‘ r ‘ sound of Claire and (h)abite is the cause of the ‘ confusion ‘.
