I wrote “nous sommes ouvertes” as it was “the Bank” that was giving the information or am I just being too literal here ?

Hi Anita,

You cannot say, ' nous sommes ouvertes' as the 'nous' in grammatical terms is always masculine and plural when it is a combination of people.

Here it does stand for the bank and you could have said -

La banque ouvre de ... à ...

but really it is quite common to say, speaking of an establishment :

Nous sommes ouverts de ... à ...

I guess ouvertes sounds like there are only female employees at the bank.
