Numbers written out in full or in numeric form

I have gotten a number of questions marked incorrect in this regard and I’m wondering if there is a set pattern for writing numbers. Are they to be written out in full or expressed in numeric terms?

This question relates to:French lesson "Expressing distance in French with "à ... de ..." = (at) ... km from ... (French Prepositions)"

I checked the test questions and Kwizbot accepts answers written in full or with the numbers. Is it possible you missed an -s or even "à"? If you could check your answers again and let us know which answer your wrote etc that would be helpful.
