Hello, at the question On a rendez-vous à ______ (We're meeting at six PM.)
I wrote six heures de l'après-midi instead of the correct answer dix-huit heures. Why my answer is wrong?
Thanks

‘6 pm’ is somewhat of a ‘crossover’ time, just as midday and midnight are. The common usage from 6 pm onwards, is of ‘soir’ as referred to in the lesson - it would be very rare in France to hear it referred to as ‘de l’après-midi’ rather than ‘du soir’.
At least in my part of the English-speaking world, this is not different - ‘6 in the evening’ is common, but rarely if ever ‘6 in the afternoon’.
Would you be understood - absolutely ! Would you hear a ‘correction’ in response - almost certainly !
