present-future
This question relates to:French writing exercise "My daughter's birthday"
Asked 4 years ago
Hi Peggy,
This is an A1 exercise and is the case of a simple story told in the present tense.
It could be told in the future or near future but would be a higher level exercise.
But thank you for your contribution!

The whole story is in French present tense. Nothing in the transcript requires future tense and the story demonstrates how present tense is used in French, and that it is different to English. This situation is the typical way in French to speak about such a day. French has only 1 present tense which is used more broadly than the simple present in English. https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/present-tense/
