Pronunciation of the double 's'
This question relates to:French lesson "Conjugate regular -ir verbs in the present tense in French (Le Présent)"
Asked 5 years ago

Bonjour Katie,
The double ss is always pronounced [s]. You can hear those conjugations pronounced here:
https://progress.lawlessfrench.com/revision/grammar/verbs/choisir
https://progress.lawlessfrench.com/revision/grammar/verbs/finir
A single s may be pronounced [s] or [z], depending on the letters around it.
For more info, please see S pronunciation.

it will be sound S, when double S the sound will be S, and when it has single S the sound will be Z
