Punctuation marks in dictation

Question

Why does Kwiziq mark you down for either not using punctuation marks which are not spoken in the dictation or for not placing them a letter distance away from the phrase they refer to?

Bonjour Paula,
When doing a dictation or writing exercise, Kwizbot will show you any errors, including punctuation. However, these are all self-marking exercises (using the star system under each result). Therefore, when doing such exercises, ignore Kwizbot's marking of your punctuation and concentrate on the language content first and foremost.
The intricacies of French punctuation will come bit by bit the more you read and hear the language and the more practice you get. I have to say that I still struggle a little with English punctuation from time to time. ;-)
